Who we are

Ability Foundation

Initiated at a time when disability was shrouded by myths, difficult targets, complete lack of visibility and non-acceptability with many a barrier…. we have traversed to what we are today. A powerhouse for a change based society, nationwide, based in Chennai, India.

Established in 1995 with just a bunch of ideals to fulfill and a mission to empower and include persons with disabilities in every walk of life.

“A world where everyone, regardless of their disabilities has equal opportunities to succeed.”

That’s our world. A world where every man, woman and child gets their due regardless of their disabilities.

We firmly believe that with the right opportunities at the right time, so much more is possible. It’s all about having an open mind.

Our work spans several pioneering activities. From publishing and media to promotion of rights…. we cover it all. We also focus on advocacy, training, and employment, advancement of inclusive education… we work tirelessly to break down barriers and change public attitudes towards persons with disabilities.

We bridge the divide between persons with and without disabilities

Organizing events that challenge stereotypes has been one of our most impactful efforts. Events that aim to shift public perceptions of persons with disabilities… underlining that given the right support and opportunities, people with disabilities are no less capable. We’re all about creating an inclusive society where everyone has access to a level playing field.

For almost three decades, we’ve seen some incredible transformations. Our journey has been a testament to the power of belief and the importance of inclusion. We’re not just changing lives—we’re changing the world, one step at a time.
