AbilityFest

At Ability Foundation, it has always been our passion to bridge the divide between persons with and without disabilities and sensitise people at large about their perception on disability. Thus began a celebration on celluloid – AbilityFest.

AbilityFest - India International Disability Film Festival is a bi-annual event. This presents a unique and inspiring showcase of extraordinary films from around the world. Films by with and about people with disabilities, AbilityFest is a glamorous event bringing to the fore the philosophy of an inclusive society. The need for universal access is underlined from the word go, from captioned as well as audio described films to accessible venues.

The Organising Committee of AbilityFest includes:
C.K.Ranganathan – President
P.K.Nair – Director
Jayshree Ravendran – Chairperson
Revathy – Vice-Chairperson

The all India one minute competition – 60 Seconds to Fame was introduced as part of AbilityFest to invite deeper thinking on disability issues. The competition, open to all Indian nationals, encourages an accurate portrayal of disability while promoting the need for an inclusive society. The winners are selected by a jury comprising of eminent people from the film industry and the disability sector.
